01.10.2013 – 30.09.2016

Project objective and approach

Since October 2013, imk automotive GmbH has been working in the INTERACT joint research project. This is funded by the EU within the framework of the Seventh Framework Program.

The focus of the project is on the simulation of human work and the increase of simulation quality compared to previous systems. The real-time integration of "low-cost" sensors into the generation of human motion is one of the primary methods to directly integrate the working methods of experienced workers into the simulation.

A further aspect is the application of new statistical methods to generate human motion.

Other objectives of the project are:

  • Easy modification of simulations in the workshop environment by all participants
  • The display of results on portable devices
  • Automatic identification of work processes through sensor technology at the workplace

On the part of imk, the project is mainly handled by the departments of Information Technology and Ergonomics and will end in September 2016.
